On this page, I post the occasional video.  Mostly, it’s interesting creatures I catch on my nighttime CritterCam.

On April 8th 2024, a good chunk of Ontario got to experience a total solar eclipse. Toronto wasn’t in the path of totality, so I took the day off and travelled to south western Ontario to be in the path and away from the clouds. Video below taken from my Dwarf II telescope. Its a little shaky, as the sun tracking feature of the scope wasn’t working due to lack of network connection. And at the end of totality, I dropped the solar filter when I was putting it back on the scope, which accounts for the bright flash of sunlight. Oops.

Got an action cam recently.   Here’s a video of my current ride to work, at 5x speed.

An interesting cloud day.  Check out the layers and directional changes.

Kind of cool night video from one of my weather cams.  Plane flying through clouds centre to right.

In addition ot my CritterCam, I have a number of weather cameras that I use to provide images for my weather website (www.sealweather.ca).   Each night, I make timelapses of the day’s images.  Here’s one from Oct 13, 2018, taken from my 360 degree roofcam. This camera is on my rooftop, and takes a 360 view.  Software takes that view and translates it into a panorama view.  The very left side of the video is looking north, and the very right side of the video is also looking north.  From left to right you get a 360 degree panorama across the sky.

Last night, we had a backyard interLOPER.

This guy wasn’t going to let a little old scarecrow sprinkler stop him from poking around.
